West Wars Bob A. Fett Ver.2 by sillof West Wars Bob A. Fett Ver.2 by sillof
I had made the original figure years ago, long before I did the rest of the line. I always wanted to retry the figure. Here is my 2nd attempt. He has many of the same elements.

Bob A. Ford
The typical wild west bounty hunter who sells his services to bring in anyone with a price on their head. I was going for a kind of Clint Eastwood feel. He is wearing his cape like a wild west poncho from The Man With No Name trilogy.

I love how he has so many weapons tucked all over, he has a great "clint eastwood" attitude :)

This works so well because Fett was sort of based on The Man With No Name, the poncho and the strong silent thing. Well, so the story goes. His original character was going to be a sort of super trooper and somewhere along the line a poncho was added. Legend has it they took it from there. If you were to do a Ghost In The Shell/cyberpunk version, would he have narrow shades and a hoodie or something more formal? I'm interested to see how you would depict him.

That was kind of the initial seed of the idea.

I have thought about a futuristic cyberpunk version.

This is what we should've got instead of Cowboys & Aliens. Cause I'd totally would go see a western version of Star Wars, at least I would if George Lucas wasn't in charge.

Nice redo! The pose of him holding the shotgun makes him look a little more bad-ass, just as Fett is =D

Fett without a gun is like Ash without his chainsaw hand or the Dude without a White Russian- it's just plain scary to visualize :XD:

Loved your first rendition of this and I love this one. Everything is perfect. As with before, I love the shin tools tucked into the boot tops and the helmet colors transferred onto the bandanna. I personally don't like the style boot you used but it works and that's all that matters.

I still think you could have gotten away with adding some light steel armor of some-kind as real basic body armor is sometimes depicted in old westerns... but I agree that this version is streamlined and works well without the armor.

The only things I think you should still try and add are knee pads of some-sort and something reminescent of the braided wookie pelts off his right shoulder. Also, if you look through my gallery I have a stylized longhorn Cow-Skull emblem that I used for a "western Mando" that I think would look great on the shoulder of this figure, even though the poncho covers it up he is missing his mando insignias...

The boots had a tracker kind of feel that I liked. I was going to paint the rolled over portion a yellowish brown to hint at the knee pads.

I tried the armor thing, It looked cool but it got a little to steampunkish, fantasy, & wild wild west. In the end I wanted a purely western feeling. If I could not see it in a sergio leone film, I did not want it.

A lot of these lines are just experiments in how I can reinterpret a character and how far I can go.

I do like the long horn idea.

Painting the rolled over portion of the boots might work well, but leaving out the yellow all together might work best.

I understand about the armor... after all you've done a steampunk version already, keeping this one 100% western and believable is best.

I still think adding emblems like fett's would tie it in more. Here is a link to my "longhorn mando" symbol. I basically took the traditional mando mythosaur skull and removed the tusks, replacing them with longhorn cattle horns.

I do plan on selling the first version pretty soon. I am opening a store on my site rather then using ebay.

If you follow me on DA, twitter, or facebook I usally send out messages about when stuff is up for sale.

Thanks

I find this new one to be more pleasing to the eye. :)
The legs look more natural this way, and the extra stuff in his boots reflect the abnormally high number of concealed weapons that Boba Fett probably has, as a mercenary.

I agree, I did not like the squat look of the original. I really don't sketch when I create, I just kind of improvise on the fly to what looks and feels right. I really like the 2nd version better.

Before I forget, I know this image is from Star Wars, nothing related, but have you ever done (or wished to do) some new version of Deadpool, from Marvel Comics?
That guy rocks, my favorite comic character by far, and your work is AMAZING, maybe you could do it as part of that Victorian Marvels series.
